Los Angeles, CA - First look trailer for Dexter: New Blood reveals the serial killer is living a new life in upstate New York. Dexter Morgan returns as Jim Lindsay as he tries to make a new life without the Dark Passenger in the new trailer for Dexter: New Blood. The trailer was unveiled during the new show's panel at Comic-Con@Home 2021, with Showtime also revealing the show will premiere Sunday, November 7. The show is set ten years after the original series, which ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013. At the end of the original show, Dexter, played by Michael C Hall, was seen moving from Miami to a cabin in Oregon, though the description of the series reveals he's now settled down in Iron Lake, New York. The trailer opens with Dexter seeing his therapist, who asks how he's feeling right now, with Dexter stating: 'Well, it's been a whirlwind.' He's seen at his cabin, stating he's 'always had my demons,' as he's seen walking through the small town of Iron Lake, greeting some of his neighbors. He's also seen getting close with a female cop as he goes to work at Fred's Fish and Game, where, according to his badge, he works as a sales associate. He's seen putting guns and knives away at the store, as he tells his therapist: "Sometimes I have an urge too strong to ignore." He's seen sharpening his knives while, at the store, a customer jokes around with a knife, which puts Dexter/Jim on edge. When the guy asks if there's a problem, he responds: "I have a thing about blood." He's then seen getting on with his life, making breakfast, having beers with friends, while he says in voice over that he wonders if anyone, 'knows who I am?' Dexter is seen looking at his reflection in a chef's knife and a straight razor. The final shot of the trailer shows a blood splatter in the snow, as he takes a shovel and covers the blood up with snow. "This is all about blending in,'"Dexter says as the trailer comes to a close. Continuarea serialului „Dexter”, care s-a încheiat în 2013, va avea premiera pe 7 noiembrie, iar postul TV Showtime a făcut public trailerul noii producții.

„Dexter: New Blood” va avea zece episoade, iar acțiunea are loc la zece ani după cea din sezonul final. După ce și-a înscenat moartea, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) a început o nouă viață ca pădurar. El locuiește în Iron Lake, New York, sub un alt nume și conduce un magazin de articole sportive – ceea ce îi oferă acces la o varietate de cuțite.

Hall a declarat, duminică, la un eveniment organizat sub titulatura Comic-Con at Home, că a revenit la Dexter în mintea sa de ceva timp. „Împreună cu toată lumea de la acest eveniment și cu toți cei care au urmărit vreodată show-ul și sunt fanii lui, eu însumi m-am întrebat ce naiba s-a întâmplat cu acest tip”, a spus actorul, potrivit The Hollywood Reporter.

În noua serie vor mai apărea veteranii producției originale Jennifer Carpenter și John Lithgow, în flashback-uri, deoarece ambele personaje au murit, dar și Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah și Jack Alcott.
