Los Angeles, CA - Missy Elliott accepts Lifetime Achievement Video Vanguard Award after bringing back Work It dancer Alyson Stoner 16 years later for electric MTV VMAs performance. Missy delighted the crowd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as she thundered through a medley of her greatest hits. The 48 year-old hip hop legend was being named a Michael Jackson Video Vanguard by Cardi B at the MTV Video Music Awards. Her performance included a treat for fans - an appearance by dancer Alyson Stoner, who was only nine when she appeared in Missy's 2002 Work It video. Alyson arrived on stage in a canary yellow tracksuit to dance to Work It, which won Video Of The Year at the 2003 VMAs. Missy included a number of throwback hits as she performed Get Ur Freak On from her 2001 album Miss E... So Addictive as well as Lose Control from her 2005 record The Cookbook. Her set list for the Prudential Center also featured Pass That Dutch, which she produced with Timbaland for her 2003 album This Is Not A Test! The Rain, from her 1997 Supa Dupa Fly back when she was known as Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott, was part of the show as well. Missy's opener, however, was a cut off her comeback record - she treated the crowd to Throw It Back from this year's EP Iconology. Over the course of her career, Missy has won a grand total of 15 MTV Video Music Awards and has 32 nominations to her name. Cardi B, modeling a revealing scarlet dress to the stage to present Missy with the Vanguard Award, said : "Her album was the first one I ever bought." Clearly thrilled to be introducing Missy, Cardi confessed: "Everyone has copied from Missy Elliott, even me,' giggling 'I don't care! So what?" When Missy arrived onstage to accept her trophy, she hid her eyes behind a visor and shared: "I promised I wouldn't cry this time, 'cause I cry every awards." Celebra publicație Rolling Stone a lansat Top 200 cele mai bune albume hip-hop din istorie. Este vorba despre materiale discografice care au definit istoria genului hip-hop, de la Run-DMC la Playboi Carti, de la G-funk la drill, din Bronx în Houston și așa mai departe.

Publicația menționează că în acest clasament au fost incluse doar albume hip-hop în limba engleză, dar alegerile făcute acoperă fiecare moment important din evoluția genului – de la compilații de la începuturi până la boom-ul cunoscut la sfârșitul anilor 1980 și începutul anilor 1990, cu Public Enemy, De La Soul, Eric B. și Rakim și alții, prin era gangsta, ascensiunea sudului Americii și a unor superstaruri ca Jay-Z și Kanye West și Nicki Minaj și mai departe.
