„Spider-Man: No Way Home” a reprezentat pentru Sony cel mai bun cadou de Crăciun dintre toate, devenind primul film din epoca pandemiei care a depășit 1 miliard de dolari la box office-ul global.

Epopeea de benzi desenate de la Sony a depășit această sumă-record în doar 12 zile de la lansare, egalând astfel „Star Wars: The Force Awakens” din 2015, și fiind al treilea cel mai rapid film care a atins punctul de referință de un miliard de dolari. Doar „Avengers: Infinity War” din 2018 și „Avengers: Endgame” din 2019 au depășit acest record, ajungând la încasări de un miliard de dolari în 11 și, respectiv, cinci zile.

Este impresionant că „Spider-Man: No Way Home” a reușit să depășească 1 miliard de dolari în vânzări de bilete la nivel mondial, având în vedere varianta Omicron a COVID-19, care se răspândește rapid. Dar până acum preocupările legate de coronavirus au fost insuficiente pentru a sabota priceperea lui Peter Parker; filmul este încă difuzat cu săli pline în întreaga lume. Realizarea face din aventura cu supereroi Marvel a lui Tom Holland singurul film de la „Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” din 2019 care a depășit 1 miliard de dolari la nivel global. Niciun alt film de la Hollywood nu s-a apropiat de aceste venituri de box office în ultimii doi ani. Înainte de supremația lui Spidey, continuarea MGM James Bond „No Time to Die”, care a încasat 774 de milioane de dolari la nivel global, s-a apropiat cel mai mult și a fost cel mai mare film de la Hollywood din 2021 (și de pandemie).
