Los Angeles, CA - X-Files star David Duchovny reveals on The Ellen Show he auditioned to play every male lead on hit sitcom Full House. The cast of Full House could have looked a bit different. When David Duchovny appeared on The Ellen Show, he opened up about the roles he previously lost out on over the years, including all three male leads on the family friendly sitcom. "You tried out for every male character of Full House," host Ellen DeGeneres said, to which Duchovny, 61, confirmed as being true. "Yeah, I tried out for Full House, for, I think, all three of them," he said before joking: "And the little girls." Duchovny revealed the series of auditions had occurred early in his Hollywood experience. "It was my first time out in LA and they brought me out for different shows," he recalled. "I ended up with the Full House stuff, and they just kept on trying to plug me into different characters. And clearly, I was wrong for every single one." The parts eventually went to Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey). But it all worked out for Duchovny in the end as he went on to find major success playing FBI agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, which premiered in 1993 and ran for 11 seasons. Duchovny previously opened up about not landing the Full House gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, calling it a 'great disappointment'. "I was auditioning for every show that would have me. Right before The X-Files, I had great disappointment because I had auditioned for Full House," he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2018. "I had actually auditioned for all three parts. Actorul David Duchovny va scrie, regiza și va juca în lungmetrajul „Bucky F*cking Dent”, o adaptare pentru marele ecran a romanului său omonim, care a ocupat primul loc pe lista celor mai bine vândute cărți și a fost bine primit de critici.

„Bucky F*cking Dent” are loc în New York, în 1978, și urmărește un om de treizeci și ceva de ani, fără niciun scop în viață, pe nume Ted, care se mută înapoi cu tatăl său, Marty (Duchovny), după ce a aflat despre boala sa terminală. Marty caută să recupereze timpul pierdut, dar sănătatea lui pare să se deterioreze ori de câte ori echipa sa iubită Red Sox pierde un meci. Cu ajutorul unui grup de bătrâni din cartier, Ted orchestrează un plan complicat pentru a-i oferi iluzia unei victorii a echipei Sox, pentru a-l face să se simtă bine. Filmul este descris ca fiind „o odă legată de relația dintre tată și fiu”, scrie Variety.

„Bucky F*cking Dent” va fi filmat anul acesta și va fi produs de Jordan Yale Levine și Jordan Beckerman de la Yale Productions.

David Duchovny este cunoscut pentru rolul agentului FBI Fox Mulder din serialul de succes „The X-Files”, precum și pentru cel al autodistructivului Hank Moody din „Californication”, de la Showtime. Cel mai recent a fost văzut în comedia lui Judd Apatow „The Bubble” și a apărut, ]n propriul rol, în „The Chair”, ambele difuzate de Netflix. Duchovny urmează să joace și în viitoarea comedie a Kenyei Barris, „You People”, produsă pentru Netflix, dar și alături de Meg Ryan în „What Happens Later”.
