Pentru că „Jungle Cruise” a trecut de 100 de milioane de dolari în box-office-ul american în weekendul trecut, studiourile Disney au  început demersurile pentru o continuare a acestuia.

Vedetele Dwayne Johnson și Emily Blunt se vor întoarce în rolurile morocănosului și spiritualului căpitan Frank Wolff respectiv cel al hotărâtei cercetătoare Dr. Lily Houghton. Michael Green, care a fost co-scenarist, se va întoarce înapoi la masa de lucru, pentru acest sequel.

Cel mai probabil regia va fi semnată tot de Jaume Collet-Serra și echipa de producție a filmului, formată din John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Johnson, Dany Garcia și Hiram Garcia va fi aceeași. Scott Sheldon revine ca producător executiv.

La fel ca ambarcațiunea care merge pe  râul Amazon, filmul „Jungle Cruise” și-a croit drumul către statutul de hit. A fost lansat pe 30 iulie, cu încasări de peste 35 de milioane de dolari la box-office-ul american și peste 30 de milioane de dolari la Disney + Premier Access, în primele sale trei zile. Și chiar și cu provocările create de noile valuri ale pandemiei de coronavirus, filmul a rămas o atracție de top la box office, iar cel de-al cincilea weekend de lansare a înregistrat o scădere în cinematografele americane de doar 21%. Încasările se ridică acum la 100,1 milioane de dolari în America și de 187 de milioane de dolari la nivel mondial.

Filmul marca Disney, „Jungle Cruise / Croazieră în junglă” prezintă o aventură plină de neprevăzut în sălbatica junglă amazoniană și este inspirat din celebra atracție cu același nume din clasicele parcuri de distracții. Pelicula îi aduce pe marile ecrane pe Dwayne Johnson și Emily Blunt, în rolurile principale, într-o misiune pe viață și pe moarte pentru a găsi Arborele Vieții și a salva omenirea.
